It has long been known that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Many of us cannot resist the charm of a person who prepares delicious meals for us. A properly composed dish will effectively sharpen all the senses and act on us like the best aphrodisiac. Especially if you add a bit of seafood, figs, watermelons or lovage to it ;) So how do you start preparing a Valentine's feast?

Breakfast in Bed
First of all, start with breakfast! Served straight to  bed on a special tray, it will give your other half a pleasant surprise. So start by baking some crispy toasts. Add to them fresh fruit and a cup of aromatic coffee. Remember to frame the whole thing with a vase with a bouquet of flowers inside. This will make your meal even more special. Do you want to somehow relate to February 14? Reach for ornamental items decorated with hearts or flowers.

Collaboration is the key to success
Then start preparing dinner. Be sure to invite your other half to this process. Cooking together can quickly turn into great fun and even make you hungry for something more ;). So, reach for your favourite recipes or on the contrary: maybe it's a great opportunity to try something completely new together? Meals cooked in a romantic atmosphere will undoubtedly taste much better!

Classic - dinner by candlelight
Few things are more associated with Valentine's Day than a gala dinner for two. At home, it will take on a completely different character - after all, it is in vain to look for distracting strangers in sight. 

You can serve dishes ordered from the restaurant, but nothing stands in the way of replacing them with self-prepared delicacies. Decorate the  table with the candles or scatter blood-red rose petals on a snow-white tablecloth. Turn on subtle and moody music - it will make it easier to put you in the right mood. It will also be a good idea to wear more elegant clothes, shoes, and make-up. Let this moment become a truly unique event!

What can you do at home?
At first glance, it may seem that in the apartment, apart from eating, there is little to do. Nothing more wrong! A bit of imagination will help make Valentine's Day no less pleasant than what romantic comedies present us. So get to know our inspirations! 

Break-dances
Our other half is a person with whom we feel completely at ease. So why not go crazy on the home dance floor together and organize a private dance party? The stars of the evening will be only you, so you won't have to be afraid of the judgmental looks of strangers. Maybe you will finally be able to try to dance a fiery tango? Or maybe you'd rather choose crazy contortions? Find out together! 

TV & chillout 
In the evening, it is worth to sit down on the  couch or  sofa corner and turn on a movie. It doesn't have to be a romantic comedy - series, action movies, thrillers or horror movies will work just as well! It is only important that they provide you with an excuse to turn off the light, cuddle up and cover yourself with a warm blanket. And if you add a common plate or bowl of snacks to this, you will have plenty of excuses to get closer to each other.

Games and fun
Valentine's Day at home is a great time to reach for old-time board games lying on the shelves. Especially if they are intended for two people and thanks to them you can learn something about your loved one. You can also take care of your favourite pastimes - maybe paint a picture together, if you are passionate about art, or make something interesting out of blocks? It's also a good idea to try something completely new! So reach for, for example, dry felting kits and compare who managed to get closer to the goal.

Don't forget about flirting
Kindling the fire of desire is extremely important in any relationship. That's why a mutual massage or a bath together will be the perfect end to a day spent together. Treatments straight from a private SPA will help you relax, forget about the worries of everyday life, and most importantly, they will also put you in the right mood. You can additionally grace the event with the presence of velvet bedding, scattered flower petals or a fragrant candle.

How to decorate an apartment for Valentine's Day?
Each of us knows how important an intimate and romantic atmosphere are during a date. So why should it be any different during Valentine's Day spent at home? So don't let the opportunity pass you by - change the face of your space with the help of a few proven tricks, and your other half will feel like on the set of a Hollywood romance.

Valentine's colours
Shades of pink and red are inseparably associated with desire and passion. It's no wonder then that they can't be missing in your home when organizing Valentine's Day. However, it is worth breaking out of the usual pattern a bit and reaching for other colours. In this way, you will be able to avoid monotony or kitschy exaggeration. 

It is therefore worth intertwining red acccents with inserts in the form of chic gold or subdued white. This means that blood-red pillows will look beautiful on a bright sofa, and furniture in Viva Magenta colour  will like a neutral blanket very much.

An interesting idea will also be to use the help of pastels. The inclusion of blue, peach or green in the composition will make the whole look unusual.

Candles for scent and atmosphere
Valentine's Day is candle time. The mysterious, seductively curling flame makes even an apartment viewed every day quickly become much more mysterious. In addition, in the warm twilight, your other half's heart will beat faster, which will make her look at you with a more favorable eye.

However, if you are not one of the supporters of subdued lighting, you can definitely reach for scented models. Such candles are available in a wide range of fragrances: some aromas will help you relax, while others, on the contrary, will refresh and chase away the remnants of drowsiness. Remember that candles are not only suitable for candlesticks. You can put them in glass lanterns or put them on platters, making them an attractive decoration.

Join photos
It is very difficult to find a person who would not like handmade gifts. And if they concern the most beautiful moments spent with the beloved, then almost all of us would be delighted. Therefore, a safe choice will be to give your partner a collage of your photos. You can also fill an album with photos and write something nice or romantic on the back of each photo. You will undoubtedly receive extra points when you touch on more intimate topics. Do you love the wrinkles that appear on her face when she smiles at you? Does it make you happy to see every cat you meet? Valentine's Day is a good time to signal it to her!

Proven solutions, i.e. flowers
A bouquet of red roses is inseparably associated with Valentine's Day. No wonder that we often start to think about how to replace them to be able to effectively surprise our other half, while still making her happy.

Reach for a bouquet of her favourite flowers! After all, why limit yourself to just one – give her a few or fill the whole room with them. In this way, you will make her feel like the heroine of her beloved movie.

If she loves to grow plants, perhaps you'll impress her more by giving her a pot of succulents? For such a special occasion, you can visit online stores in search of a rarer species or an older and more overgrown specimen.

Want something more unusual? There are many solutions available - you just need to look around. You can reach for dried flowers, models made of blocks or even go in a completely unusual direction and give your loved one ... a bouquet of cauliflower and carrots! If your girlfriend has a sense of humour similar to yours, this will surely become one of her favourite memories. Otherwise, it is better to give up such extravagance and reach for classic bouquets. You don't want to hurt anyone with your behaviour.
